Specular Microscopy of Cornea :

This procedure is done to assess the cellular morphology and Cell Density of the Endothelial Layer of the Cornea before Cataract Surgery, any type of Intra Ocular Surgical Interventions and in special Diseased conditions like Fuch's Endothelial Corneal Dystrophy, Posterior Polymorphous Dystrophy , ICE Syndrome, Fellow eye of a Decompensated Cornnea after Cataract Surgery etc.
It is an OPD procedure, if patients are advised to get this done by their primary referring doctor, they can mention the procedure and take a direct apponintment with the Front Desk personnel either in person or telephonically. In such case a print out is handed over to the patient for the reference of their referring doctor and for future reference for the patient.
