Chemical Injury Management

This centre offers Exclusive Management for Chemical  and Thermal Injury. Most of the cases are affected at work places like Industry, Chemical Factories or Plants etc. Chemical Injury can lead to extensive damage to the eye and surrounding structures and some times severe scarring, disfigurement or even loss of an eye and Eye Sight both. Hence, timely and appropriate management makes a huge difference in the final outcome of such cases.

Acute Injury Management would include intensive therapy and if needed Amniotic membrane application with some other surgical procedures to primarily allow the ocular surface to quieten down and promote surface healing process. Once this is achieved, the surface is allowed to remain stabilized and quiet for some time before offering definitive procedures. Usuallay these cases would demonstrate signs of limbal stem cell deficiency and long term sequelae of the injury.
